Hello everyone! I am a co-presenter for the pessimistically titled "How to Lose Your New Tech Librarians."  So as you don't think I am a completely cranky individual, I am happily employed as a librarian at the Associated Press.  The theme of this presentation is based on a trend I have sadly noticed regarding new librarians with technical skills.  Libraries say they are the most coveted group of new employees, but many of these new librarians are quitting the field after a few years.  Why?  What are managers and the community doing to alienate new librarians?  If you have any input, or it sounds like I am describing you, email me and I can get a short survey to you.  At worst, you can just complain about work, and at best, we can help prevent duplicating your situation. It's cheaper than therapy, and of course, anonymous!
